She was age 27 when she disappeared.

Troy Police were led to the police by a resident who discovered human remains. Identification was confirmed through dental records and DNA analysis, Barker said.

King, reported missing over a decade ago, from Schenectady County in Glenville, has been identified, sparking a renewed investigation into her disappearance and death by Troy Police, assisted by the Albany Police Department and the New York State Police Cold Case Unit.

The mystery of how King's remains ended up in Troy remains under investigation, with detectives determined to uncover the circumstances of her death, Barker added.
